Great Chinese food in the Lakeway area, really hit the spot after a day out on the lake. They do close in the middle of the day 3-4pm. We ordered a variety of dishes from the Chinese menu (hot pot with pork intestines, salt and pepper fillet fish, shrimp with snow pea leaves, smoked tea duck) - everything was delicious! The prices were pretty fair for the amount of food and they have quite a diverse selection of traditional items. It was not busy at all when we arrived, but it was close to their closing time. There is plenty of parking since they are located in a plaza. The noise level is low.

I don't find myself out this way often. I remember when there was a Pao's Mandarin House in the Brown Building in Downtown Austin. Now, there is only this one, but worth a trip to Lakeway for some of the best Asian cuisine anywhere. REAL CHINESE HOT MUSTARD. BE CAREFUL, but it's amazing!

Shoutout to the owner @ Pao’s Mandarin House! I’ve been ordering from there here & now and the food never misses! This time we got a call saying that our prepaid to go order was ready & we missed closing! The owner was so very sweet to stay open past closing to ensure we got our orderI am so grateful because it was an amazing meal that we were so looking forward to!

Our Family has ordered take out here for at least 5 years. The food is always "a treat to behold", delicious. Then one day we took the family to the restaurant. The Server was amazing and other employee's were great. Take out or dine in, either way its a win, win.

Initially came here looking for dim sum after seeing a review saying they had it, but they haven’t served dim sum in quite a while! That was okay because everything else was really yummy. We ordered two dishes off the lunch menu: the Szechuan and Curry Chicken. Pretty good deals for those. We also ordered the Flat Noodle with Beef, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Scallion Pancake, and Spicy Wontons. Really satisfying for a decent price! Tina was also really helpful providing recommendations. If we are in the area again, we’d love to come back!
